Welcome to the Thorsby Family Website!!
I have personally tested with several DNA testing companies, including FTDNA.com and 23andMe.com. My Y-DNA Haplogroup is R-M269 (on FTDNA) , a very common European Haplogroup. My mtDNA Haplogroup (from FTDNA) is J1c5.
23andMe reports my paternal line as R1b1b2a1a2f* and maternal line as J1c. Not surprisingly, they show my ancestry composition as 99.9% European. I am also 3% Neanderthal.
Through FTDNA, I joined two groups. The R1b-L1335 Scottish group and the R1b-all subclades group. As suggested by Robert Hughes, administer of the Scottish group I tested with Y-SEQ. They determined I was R1b-L1065*. Mr. Hughes placed me in the Modal 2.7.0 L1335+, L1065+ Scots in the DaneGeld, with three other fellows. As I understand it, that indicates an area of Scotland that the Vikings invaded during the 12th and 13th centuries and demanded payment, in order to prevent violence.
I have an account on v2.gedmatch.com account# FN26784 and GEDCOM resource #6011173.
My Y-STR values (111 markers) in CSV file.
